Two Ducks on Chair is an original acrylic painting on an 8" x 8" canvas — a portrait of two white ducks who have found the best seat in the house and have absolutely no intention of giving it up. They stand side by side on the green and cream striped cushion of an ornate silver-framed Louis XV bergère armchair, its back upholstered in rich deep red, its carved frame curving with Rococo elegance around them. One duck faces slightly left, the other slightly right — their white feathers soft and rounded, their orange and grey bills calm and unhurried, their small orange feet planted firmly on the stripe. Against a warm, luminous ochre gold background, the silver chair glows and the ducks glow brighter. The floor is pale and cool. Pure paint, pure ducks, pure golden room.
