Bubblegum Barb is an original acrylic painting on a repurposed 16" x 12" canvas — a close-up portrait of a woman who is not trying to impress you and is therefore completely irresistible. She fills the canvas face-first, her hair wound into enormous hot pink rollers set over deep teal-blue waves — a crown of casual domestic glamour that takes up almost half the composition. Her eyebrows are bold and dark, her eyes a vivid, wide-open cerulean blue. Her lashes are real — applied to the canvas, sweeping and dark, giving her gaze an immediacy no paint alone could achieve.
