Bat Girl

Bat Girl is an original acrylic and mixed media painting on a repurposed 16" x 20" canvas — a portrait of a woman who makes her own rules and wears a bat mask while doing it. She wears a sleek black bat mask, its pointed ears rising above her shaved head, its cut-outs revealing sharp blue eyes framed by real eyelashes — actual lashes applied to the canvas surface, a mixed media detail that makes her gaze entirely, impossibly alive. Her lips are full and parted, a cigarette resting between them with complete nonchalance. Her skin is warm gold and terracotta, her body wrapped loosely in deep red and white.
